Scripture in the Morning #187
Knowing that we can and should serve our spouse better is half the battle. And, as a second consideration, fear sometimes motivates right action.
So what should we do if, upon evaluation of our treatment of our spouse, we conclude that we have not been the spouse we have been called to be?
So, as predictable as it might be at this juncture, I will write it anyway.
Every day is a new day for the Lord to accomplish in and through us what we failed to do in the past. Every morning is a fresh new start in the Lord…
Lamentations 3:22,23 The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His grace and mercies never come to an end; 23 they are new every morning; great is thy faithfulness.
We may have failed earlier – but that was then and this is now. Every day is a fresh start. Each day is a new prayer day. Each day is a new day to set our spouse aside and confess our sins to them, apologize to them and tell them of how much we love them and wish to serve them in the Lord now more than ever.
Every new day in the Lord is a new start – and this is the hope that defeats fear.
Have a great day!
