Scripture in the Morning #188
The things you can learn from a 6-year-old. The below is a paraphrase of the morning prayer I heard our granddaughter pray…
“I am not what I do. I am not what I have. I am not what people say I am. I am a child of the Lord. I don’t have to hurry. I don’t have to worry. I have nothing to fear. I am in the Lord’s hands. I am safe. And I am here to praise, worship and enjoy Him and tell others of His greatness.”
So… this morning, if we are at all asking who we are – something that we all, at some level ask – then know this – we are the Bride of Christ. We are the adopted children of God. We are new creations in Christ…
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
Our Identity is in Christ. Our purpose is in Christ.
Our reason for being? To share the love of the Lord with our loved ones. Or, as our granddaughter would say, to “praise, worship and enjoy Him and tell others of His greatness.”
Life as a Christian may not be easy. It may have trials and pain. But it is amazing. Life is blessed and God will use everything we experience to grow us. So, my friends, be encouraged and encourage someone in the Lord this day.
1 Peter 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to His great mercy, He has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead
Phil 1:6 And I am sure of this, that He who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
Have a great day!
