Scripture in the Morning #207
We start a new series on questions about the Bible. A question will be posed and answers posited – as opinions for your consideration. Please measure all you read against the principles from the Bible. So..the question is this… What is the Bible About?
For your consideration. The Bible exists to show forth before men and angels the Glory of God (God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit — three in one and one in three — the Triune God; one God in three persons). The Glory of God is the manifest perfections of His great attributes — His omnipotence, omnipresence, omniscience, His perfect and infinite love, mercy, forgiveness, grace, sovereignty, His just wrath, justice, holiness, and His infinite wisdom, sacrifice and perfections. The Bible is alive and active, sharper than any two-edged sword and is illumined by God the Holy Spirit and is itself an instrument of God’s grace to bless men – we are blessed as God reveals Himself to us in the Bible.
The centerpiece of all reality — the glory of God — is the centerpiece of the Scriptures. The most concrete manifest display of God’s glory is the Person and Work of God the Son — Jesus Christ. Thus, the focal point within the Scriptures that most pointedly displays the Glory of God is the Person and Work of God the Son. Thus, the person and Work of Jesus Christ resides at the center of the Scriptures.
John 1:14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.Have a great day!
Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine, for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you.
May we each bask in His glory this day and enjoy Him. May we read of Him in His Word and stand amazed at His greatness and praise Him. Bless someone today by telling them something of this great God we serve. Have a wonderful day.
